Who We Are & What We Stand For

We're a Metro Detroit nonprofit working directly with families, veterans, and young people who need real support, not just good intentions.

Our Mission

Strengthening Lives Through Access & Opportunity

The Wordhouse Community Foundation for Wellness & Opportunity is dedicated to strengthening individuals and families by providing access to healthy food, educational resources, youth development programs, and community-driven opportunities that promote long-term wellness, stability, and success.

Our Vision

A Thriving Community Without Barriers

We envision a thriving community where every individual, regardless of income or background, has access to the resources, education, and support needed to live a healthy, empowered, and purpose-filled life.

What We Do

Programs That Change Lives

Four programs built around what this community actually needs.

Veteran Enrichment

We connect veterans with job resources, mental health support, housing help, and people who actually get it. Coming home is hard. We make it a little easier.

Student Athletes

We invest in the whole student, not just the scoreboard. Tutoring, nutrition support, mentorship, and life skills to help young athletes succeed in school and in life.

Food Pantry

No family should go to bed hungry. Our pantry keeps fresh produce and staple foods available to anyone who needs it. No judgment, no barriers, just food.

Community Engagement & Education

Financial literacy workshops, health events, civic programming. We give residents the tools and knowledge to handle whatever life throws at them.

When a community invests in its most vulnerable members, every person rises. That is the work we do. That is the foundation we build.
