The Veteran Enrichment Program, a signature initiative of the Wordhouse Community Foundation, provides veterans with opportunities to reconnect, learn new skills, and build meaningful relationships in a supportive community setting. Through hands-on experiences such as farming, gardening, food preservation, cooking, foraging, and wellness activities, veterans gain practical knowledge while enjoying the therapeutic benefits of working outdoors.
Our program is designed to promote camaraderie, purpose, and personal growth by creating a welcoming environment where veterans can share experiences, develop new interests, and strengthen their connection to their community. Through education, fellowship, and service, we honor those who have served while supporting their continued well-being and success.
Get InvolvedThe Food Pantry Program of the Wordhouse Community Foundation works to reduce food insecurity by providing nutritious food and essential household items to individuals, families, seniors, and veterans in need. In addition to serving our local community, we support other food pantries and community organizations by sharing resources, food donations, supplies, and best practices to strengthen the hunger-relief network throughout the region.
Through partnerships with local businesses, farms, volunteers, and community leaders, we help ensure that food reaches those who need it most while building a stronger, more connected system of support for neighboring pantries and the communities they serve.

Get InvolvedThe Youth Mentorship Program of the Wordhouse Community Foundation empowers young people by providing opportunities to explore sports, music, arts, trades, and other personal interests while building confidence, leadership skills, and positive community connections. Through mentorship, educational workshops, and hands-on experiences, participants receive guidance in financial literacy, college and career planning, skilled trades exploration, and life skills development.
